Airline Product Discovery
The neutral

Built for NDC. Designed for Offers & Orders.
Ready for AI-driven distribution.
Context
NDC and the ongoing transition to Offers & Orders were designed to modernize airline distribution — enabling richer products, personalized offers, and genuinely differentiated retailing. While adoption continues to advance across the industry, the ecosystem still depends heavily on brute-force shopping and price-first comparison. The infrastructure has been rebuilt. The discovery layer has not.
Learn morePrice will always matter — but it is only one attribute of an airline product. Travelers increasingly make decisions based on comfort, flexibility, onboard experience, and overall value — yet most of this differentiation remains invisible at the moment it matters most: discovery.
Learn moreThe NDC ecosystem is, by design, decentralized. Without a shared layer above it, the ecosystem becomes fragmented and expensive to navigate. Our product discovery and routing layer sits above the carrier APIs without replacing them — enabling attribute-based discovery while leaving pricing and order creation entirely with the airlines.
Learn moreAI travel agents do not shop the way humans do. They do not browse, compare visually, or tolerate latency-heavy discovery flows. They operate on intent, constraints, and product attributes — and efficient product discovery is the prerequisite for AI-native airline retailing.
Learn moreThe Case for Change
Retailing built around price comparison commoditizes airline products. Experience differentiation restores commercial leverage to carriers and delivers genuine value to travelers.
Products defined by attributes - comfort, flexibility, services, sustainability - are intelligible to both humans and machines. This is how modern retail works, and airline distribution is no exception.
Platform
We organize airline products into normalized attributes infrastructure so travel platforms and AI agents can identify relevant options before querying airlines. We solve a structural problem the industry has learned to live with - but no longer has to.
We enable attribute-based product discovery across the decentralized NDC ecosystem.
Our platform aggregates and normalizes airline product definitions, and links them to routings and schedules.
We deliver highly targeted, intent-verified requests to the correct airlines' NDC hosts.
Boundaries
We do not touch airline pricing. Fare construction, yield management and offer pricing remain entirely within each airline's own systems - we surface product attributes before a price is ever requested.
Offer assembly and order management stay with the airline and its NDC host. We provide the discovery layer that routes intent to the right carrier - the transaction is never ours to own.
We are an upstream complement, not a replacement. PSS, NDC API, revenue management, distribution - all remain exactly where they are. We add the product discovery layer that sits in front of them.
The Sequence
Four steps from traveler intent to airline-ready request - automated, attribute-driven, and built for the NDC era.
A traveler, AI agent, or TMC tool expresses a need by attributes - route, comfort, flexibility, sustainability tier - not a fare class.
Rocket Equation maps the intent against its normalized airline product graph - identifying which carriers offer matching products on the relevant routings.
A precise, intent-verified shopping request is dispatched only to the airlines whose products can fulfill the need - eliminating wide-fan brute-force calls.
Airlines respond with live NDC offers. Pricing, ordering and fulfillment remain entirely within the airline's own systems - we never intermediate the transaction.

The rationale
As airlines move toward modern retailing and travelers increasingly rely on AI assistants to plan trips, the industry still adapts old habits to a new protocol.
The gap is not NDC adoption - it is product discovery infrastructure. Before sellers can present differentiated offers, they need to know which airlines provide relevant products on relevant routings - without asking every airline at once.
That is the problem Rocket Equation solves. Not shopping. Not pricing. Not booking. Discovery. The step before everything else.
Native to the entire ecosystem
You define the product. You price the offer. You own the order. We simply make your products discoverable - consistently and efficiently - across indirect channels.
Get the value of Higher ancillary attachment, Better product differentiation and Reduced distribution inefficiency while keeping Lower shopping volume with Higher conversion rate and Cleaner NDC traffic patterns.
The cost of wide-fan shopping is borne by every participant in the chain. Discover eligible products first - then send targeted, intent-verified queries and request pricing only where it matters.
Lower infrastructure cost. Higher conversion.
Traveler intent should be resolved upstream, not filtered downstream. Our Meta-Layer API gives AI travel agents a native way to discover airline products based on intent and attributes, allowing them to reason on structured data - reducing search cost, improving relevance and consistency.
We enable AI Agents to understand airline products. Less brute force. More intelligence.
High-value clients care more about what they get. We help you discover travel options that really meet their needs - before price enters the conversation.
Because for affluent travelers, value beats price.
The name
In physics, the rocket equation defines a fundamental constraint: the amount of fuel you need to deliver a payload in space grows exponentially for every extra pound of payload. No amount of engineering can remove this constraint. The only thing that can be optimized is efficiency.
Airline distribution operates under the same constraint.
As airline products become more complex, the cost of discovery increases - often exponentially. More attributes. More combinations. More waste. Data is the fuel. By structuring airline products and resolving intent before shopping and pricing, we reduce the amount of data required to return relevant offers - without sacrificing choice or control.
There is no free discovery. You cannot cheat the equation.
The People
For the past decade, we've been working on both the price and product sides of the airline distribution equation.
We have designed, built, and maintained high-availability, low-latency distributed systems operating under extreme traffic and data complexity, powering airfare pricing, shopping, and product definition at scale.
Our major achievements include the development of an independent, full-scale airfare pricing and shopping engine (acquired by a long-established institution at the center of the airline industry) and the design, implementation, and scaling of a product-attribute API that has seen broad global adoption.
This is not a team that learned airline distribution from the outside, and we are now employing all our expertise in what we envision as the next big step of airline retailing.
